Set up and start

Do we need the official QR cups to play?
No. Any cups on the table work. You tap the one you hit in the app. The official QR set replaces the tapping: each cup has its own code, you scan it, and the challenge appears.
How many phones do we need?
One per team is enough. Pass it down your side of the table. Nobody needs their own screen.
Is the app really free?
Yes. Open app.qr-pong.com in your browser and play. Party and Ranked are free. No app store.
How do I install the app?
You don't need the App Store. On iPhone, add it to your home screen. On Android and other devices, install it as a web app. Then it sits there like any other app.
What is the difference between party and ranked mode?
Party turns every hit into a challenge. Dares, quizzes and forfeits across 10+ modes. Ranked drops the challenges and only keeps score: Pong Rating, your stats and the leaderboard.
Can we play without alcohol?
Yes. The app does not care what is in the cups. Challenges are dares and quizzes, not drinking instructions. Skip or redraw any time. QR-PONG is for players aged 18 and over.
Do we need an account?
Not to start a game. Open the app and play. Make an account if you want your Pong Rating and stats to stick around after the night.
Do we have to pay?
No. Party and Ranked are free. Premium is optional: extra modes and more detailed stats. You can ignore it and still play the full game.
Does it work on iPhone?
Yes. It runs in the browser, including Safari on iPhone. If you scan QR cups, the phone will ask for camera access. That's the only permission it needs.
How does Pong Rating work?
Ranked wins and losses move your Pong Rating, from Rookie up through the ranks. Party games have a separate rating, so a chaotic night can't ruin the competitive one.
